Freeforall: Even More Prompt Sites

Welcome:

This page houses even more prompt sites, for those who feel restless, have time on their hands, or are avoiding something.

The sites are not being banished but are sites that people go to no matter what. I don’t want to drop them, having developed an odd proprietary feeling for them.

Poetic Bloomings: Remember, everyone, along with a weekly prompt, PB has a regular interview post, as well as bringing us forms to play with.

ABC Wednesday: For you alliterationists out there [or even if you aren’t], visit ABC Wednesday.

Three Word Wednesday: gives us three words to incorporate into a poem. This week we have banter, duty, and element. You might try writing down the first thoughts that come into your head as you read these words, before you go on to visit the site for their definitions. TWW has a particularly good source and I often get ideas from the definitions rather than the given words.

AtΒ Poets United, look to the left and scroll down a little. You will see all that PU has to offer. Their prompts can be found at the Thursday Think Tank and Motifs.

Another entrant for all you photo mad writers. So many of you like image prompts and Alastair’s Blog will give you a photo a day. Just check his blog when you feel like an image and if you write a poem, leave a link at his place. Alastair collects inspirational quotes, so you can visit just to read, if you are having one of those days.

Elizabeth’s blogs are well-worth following. Sometimes she will have prompts for a while, or she will engage in discussion topics. For now, she has been going back through old journals and rediscovering elements of herself that resonate with all writers, I suspect. Read back a few, then play lucky dip with posts even further back.

Visiting the sites will bring you to, or near, the latest prompt.

Thank you for the follow and the invitation. I love the haibun, as a form, although am new to it. I am happy to see the challenge is ongoing, as I will implode if I take on one more thing this month.

mmm… I wish Jules had checked with me first. I am trying to trim the Freeforall, rather than add. Tell you what. Let me take a look around your site and I might be able to put your blog together with Carol Isles’ Light Words. She also does a photoprompt.

That was quick! My group likes photo prompts, so I really will look, Alastair. I can always be less chatty.

It’s okay, really. Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound snappy

Good Heavens, you didn’t sound snappy.

Your photographs have been fun to follow from the earlier ones, to see what interests you and to watch the development of your composition. I read your ‘Goodbye’ post. I’m glad you decided to hang in.

I have those days. I’ve made it to sixty. You’re young yet πŸ˜‰ Grim determination and finding things that make you smile will keep you out of the pit on those snaffy [great word] days.

LOL Thanks. I’m closing on my half century soon. Although I don’t see how, inside I still feel in my thirties. πŸ™‚ Don’t know where snaffy just popped from πŸ˜€

Oy! I should be smacked. I wasn’t looking. Alastair, I will be happy to put you on my standing page and to remind people it’s here, every now and then. I was thinking of my movable prompt post on Fridays. Consider yourself added to this page.

I ran out of response space, so am tacking on here. You’re an artist. Artists always feel like they are in their thirties. Truth!

Okay, you are up and running. I’m glad to have met you and will remember to thank Jules.

Going through this, always on the hunt for new prompts to inspire, it seems that the Trifecta site has closed its doors, so to speak. Wasn’t sure if you were aware? *smile*

Thank you very much. I was not aware. I tend to forget the prompt sites I have put on the ice floe [that’s how I feel, but the posts were getting ridiculously long]. I’ll get on to it. m
